ESSENTRICS CLASSES

ESSENTRICS ® 


RELEASE, REBALANCE AND RESTORE- Beginner Level Class

Cost: $30 for series

Silver Sneakers eligible.

Dates:  Classes Begin January 2020

Description:  This beginner level Essentrics class offers a slower paced, more gentle class than our regular Essentrics classes.   Exercises will be done in a standing position next to a chair and ballet barre for balance.  Includes stretches that help release tension,  rebalance muscles, improve range of motion, improve posture, increase flexibility and  mobility. This beginner level class is for persons who have stiffness due to atrophy, reduced shoulder mobility, arthritis, osteoporosis, joint pain, and is for anyone who wants to enjoy a safe, slow paced fitness class with total body stretching and toning.  This 6 week series is a progressive class which will help you improve your energy, strength and balance in as little as 4-6 weeks.   Who Is This Class For?  This class is for beginners, persons new to Essentrics, or anyone who has difficulty getting up and down from the floor.  Special focus is on teaching the basic principles of The Essentrics Method using correct form and technique. 

Note:  participation is contingent upon approval of the class instructor, based on their evaluation of a participant's ability to successfully and safely perform exercises.

New Students: Please come to the first class 15 minutes early to complete the paperwork and have a brief orientation.  Participants must sign a Liability & Release Agreement.  Exercises are performed in bare feet, no shoes required. 


ESSENTRICS®  & ESSENTRICS ® BARRE

Cost: $30 for series

Essentrics is a total body fitness class that includes the perfect balance of stretching and strengthening.  This total body workout will rebalance, stretch and strengthen all the muscles. The fluid and continuous movements influenced by Tai Chi, the strengthening theories behind ballet and the healing principles of therapeutic stretch and myofascial release enables your body to remain ageless, strong, flexible and pain free.   Use dynamic stretching and strengthening exercises to slim down your waistline and flatten your abs, strengthen your trunk, sculpt your legs and buttocks and improve your posture.  Feel taller, leaner and invigorated after every class.   The first half of this class includes standing exercises followed by toning exercises and a wonderful stretch on the mat. 

Barre Class- Similiar to our regular Essentrics workout, the first half of this class includes a total body stretching and includes standing exercises, followed by toning and stretching using a ballet barre and chair. 

CSA Palm Harbor

The Palm Harbor Community Center is a  non-intimidating place for people to meet, make new friends, socialize and enjoy exercising together!

PILATES FOR BONE BUILDING

Bone Building & Balance- Beginner Level Class

Cost: $30  for series

This is a Silver Sneakers eligible class

Dates:  Classes Begin January 2020

Ages: 60 and up

Gender: Coed

Description: Stop bone loss, restore bone mass and prevent falls. The exercises in this Pilates-based class will help to correct posture, strengthen muscles of the torso, shoulders, legs and feet, improve standing balance and increase flexibility, all using exercise tubes and bands. Exercises will be done in a seated or standing position next to a chair and using a wooden dowel for balance.  Results include improved strength, increased balance and flexibility and better quality of life.

Who Is This Class For? If you have difficulty getting up and down from the floor, then this is the class for you.  Special focus is on using Pilates-based exercises to prevent osteoporotic fractures and make daily tasks easier.

Note:  participation is contingent upon approval of the class instructor, based on their evaluation of a participant's ability to successfully and safely perform exercises.

New Students: Please come to the first class 15 minutes early to complete the paperwork and have a brief orientation.  Participants must sign a Liability & Release Agreement.  Exercises are performed in bare feet or Pilates socks (non-slip surface.)

NOTE:  Exercise bands and tubes ($6-8) will be available to purchase, or you may bring your own.

Bone Building & Balance-Intermediate Level Class 

This is a Silver Sneakers Eligible Class

Dates: Classes Begin January 2020

Ages: 18 & up

Gender: Coed

Description: Join us for a Pilates-based bone building class using foam rollers, exercise tubes, bands and hand weights. The class will focus on body awareness, alignment, breathing and core control with exercises that involve weight-bearing, standing balance and spinal mobility. Special focus is on postural correction, form, balance, spine extension, hip extension, fracture prevention and functional fitness! 

Who is This Class For?  

Ages 18 and up. You must be able to get down to and up from the floor for mat exercises to participate. Please bring your own yoga mat.

New Students: Please come to the first class 15 minutes early to complete the paperwork and have a brief orientation.  Participants must sign a Liability & Release Agreement.  Exercises are performed in bare feet or socks with a sticky bottom (Pilates socks).
