Jean is a nationally certified Pilates teacher, certified personal trainer and nutrition coach. She founded Jean Marie Fitness & Pilates studio because she believes that physical, mental and spiritual well-being are the foundation for a longer, healthier life. Jean started her career in 1994 teaching group fitness and personal training. She was led to Pilates to help heal her low back pain and manage stress. Jean embarked in Pilates instructor training in 2001 and has been teaching Pilates for over 20 years. Jean holds a diploma from Polestar Pilates as a comprehensively trained Polestar Pilates teacher and is Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher. She enjoys teaching Pilates to persons of all ages, fitness levels and all walks of life.
Jean's specialities and current interests are in Pilates for back pathologies, osteoporosis and prstress management. Jean teaches her Pilates clients how to slow down a little bit so they can practice Pilates with precision and control and focus on 3 dimensional breathing. Jean empowers her clients to be mindful of their posture during their Pilates exercises in the studio. The best part about Pilates is that what you learn in the studio will carry over into your everyday life! You will walk, sit and stand taller and move better in your activities of daily living.
In addition to teaching Pilates, Jean is a student of nutrition and is passionate about offering nutrition coaching sessions to her Pilates clients put into practice what they already know and teaches the important role nutrition plays in exercise and maintaining good health.
