Jean is a certified Pilates Instructor, certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. She began her fitness career in 1991 teaching group exercise and personal training at local fitness clubs. She took a leap of faith and opened her first personal training studio in 1996. In the beginning of Jean's fitness career, she was a national Fitness America Competitor, a body builder and she taught high impact fitness classes including kickboxing, step aerobics and boot camps. These activities took a toll on her joints and spine. Jean was led to Pilates to rehabilitate an SI joint injury and low back pain. She realized Pilates was exercise her body was missing and it helped to rebalance muscles that were causing pain. She embarked in professional Pilates training in 1999 and has been teaching Pilates ever since. Today, Jean has converted her personal training studio into a fully equipped Pilates studio and also teaches functional fitness training sessions using hand weights, the TRX, bands, balls and a variety of FUNctional exercise equipment. Jean's favorite clients to teach are those interested in slowing down their movement a little bit, paying attention to the little details and learning new age reversing strategies to achieve whole body health. Jean welcomes women and men of all ages to try Pilates and discover its amazing benefits. Jean focuses on teaching good posture and alignment, healthy movement patterns and designs Pilates programs and exercise for functional fitness with the best exercises for each clients goals.
