
Jean Deferrari began her fitness career as a group fitness instructor and Personal Fitness Trainer. She was a bodybuilder and a Fitness America Pageant competitor for more than six years. While recovering from an SI Joint injury and low back pain, she was led to Pilates. Pilates helped strengthen weak muscles, correct faulty movement patterns that were causing injury and pain. Jean has been personally training clients since 1998 and teaching Pilates since 2001. After teaching Pilates for a decade, Jean was looking for a stretching program that wasn't yoga or tai chi. After she discovered Essentrics she started doing daily Essentrics workouts and helped improve her flexibility and reduced stress. Jean uses her experiences to help her clients achieve their fitness and health goals. In addition, Jean offers practical nutrition coaching and weight loss coaching to health conscious individuals seeking natural solutions to weight loss.
Jean's teaching philosophy is combining evidence-based functional fitness training and Pilates exercises with corrective exercise strategies, mindful movement and imagery. Jean combines the art of choreography and variations of exercises to help her clients feel refreshed, strong, balanced and flexible after every workout.
